The Laborer, Grounds Maintenance maintains grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property. Repairs structures, and equipment, performing one or more of the following tasks: remove brush, trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using weed eaters, blowers, hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools.
Essential Functions of the Position
Spreads salt on walkways and other areas, repairing and painting fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.
Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse;
Maintains grounds of industrial or commercial property, trim hedges and edges using trimmers, clippers, and edging tools, picks up and burns or carts away leaves, paper or other litter;
Removing snow, sand, brush, or other debris from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots, using a shovel, blower, or other equipment.
Assists in cleaning emergency spills that are observed or as requested.
Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and requests repairs when needed.
Assists in the repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment, and may clean comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Must be able to perform detailed warehouse operations as assigned in accordance with AR 710-1 (Centralized Inventory Management of the Army Supply System) and AR 710-2 (Supply Policy Below the National Level).
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
Must have the ability to multitask and demonstrate attention to detail.
Must be reliable, responsible, and fulfill obligations.
Possess a Valid California driver’ License.
Must be a US citizen.
Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
Must be able to obtain and maintain Base access and the Common Access Card (CAC)
