Job Description:
The General Clerk III provides value to our customer by ensuring the integrity of all customer
orders in the most efficient manner. This is accomplished by ensuring that the department is
properly prepared to support and meet the business priorities established by our customer.
Clerical work is controlled (e.g. through spot checks, complete review or subsequent processing)
for both quality and quantity.

• Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail
systems, and personal computers.
• Provide counseling on entitlements and responsibilities for each move, utilizing the
information located in the Joint Travel Regulation, Defense
• Travel Regulation and the Personal Property Consignment Guide.
• Answer all inquiries made by customers.
• Produce DD 1299, DD 1797 and all other forms required for an outbound move, using the
Defense Personal Property System (DPS) and Electronic
• Transportation Personal Property Standard System (ETOPS
• Checks the validity of military orders, invoices and other documentation
• Ensures all documents are complete per the regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Ability to be a team player
• Customer Service driven
• Detail oriented
• Proven planning, organizational and analytical skill
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate
• Specialized knowledge of various travel entitlements, policies and procedures pertaining to
personnel moves (PCS and movement of household goods).
• Knowledge to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments and/or identify
problems and be able to analyze and resolve transportation issues or problems
• Demonstrates knowledge of proper office procedures. Accurate filing. Ability to type 55
words per minute. Familiarity with the terminology of the office unit
• 3-5 years administrative/clerical experience to include word processing, automation, data
entry and record keeping.
• Sedentary work, however, walking, standing, stooping and bending are common
• May exert up to 10 pounds of force
